I’m not very good at New Year’s resolutions. I mean, who actually has time to think about a resolution on the first day of the year? I’m still recovering from the Holidays. It’s now almost a week into 2017 and I think I have figured out the direction of my ‘resolution’.
A friend of mine picks a word that she wants to focus on to better herself throughout the year: what a great idea! This year I would like to do the same, and after a lot of thought and contemplation of what I need to improve and challenges I will be facing this year, I have chosen the word “Strength”. Strength in all things. Each month I will focus on one part of my life that I need to strengthen. Physical strength, spiritual strength, strengthening relationships, strength in motherhood, and so much more. There are so many ways I need strengthen myself.
“Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid; for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also has become my salvation”
2 Nephi 22:2
Strength in all things: Motherhood
For the Month of January, I will be doing my best to improve myself in motherhood.
Yesterday was a long day. After feeling sick for most of the day (pregnancy nausea), being stuck at home due to cold and snow, and my husband staying late at work: I was done in. Bedtime ended with me raising my voice and being mean (in an attempt to get those kids to just stay. in. their. beds!), and locking myself in the bathroom to take a shower. That didn’t go so well, and I had many tears fall as I thought over the day. I knew I had done a terrible job. Motherhood is hard.
I could use any tips or other blogs post links in regards to this area.
I will share with you over the month things that have helped and how I will have (hopefully) strengthened myself in motherhood.
What are your New Years Resolutions and how to you approach your goals? You may not have time to think about that yet, and that’s OK! I’m taking things easy and slowly, and you can too!
